Read: John 16:20-24 Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. (v. 22 NIV)
What does it mean to be a follower of Jesus? What are we supposed to do as his disciples?
In Jesus’s final teaching to his disciples, recorded in John 13-17, we find hope, assurance, and purpose. His heartfelt prayers for unity, peace, and joy were not only for his disciples but for all who would follow him—including you.
This devotional reading plan invites you to explore the richness of Jesus’s parting words and the promises he left for his followers. Each day, you’ll uncover insights about his love, his call to trust him in the face of trouble, and his desire for us to live as one—reflecting the unity he shares with the Father. You’ll also be encouraged to consider what it means to experience his peace, to bear fruit through life’s trials, and to boldly testify to his truth in a world that often resists it.
As you read and pray, you’ll see how Jesus equips us to live out his mission of love and unity. No matter the challenges we face, his words remind us that he has overcome the world, offering us peace and a deep, abiding connection with him.
Are you ready to embrace the fullness of his promises and let his prayers shape your life? Let’s reflect together on what it means to live as Jesus’s beloved, united, and empowered people.
