Lion of Judah

Read: Mark 15:37-39 One of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered.” (Rev. 5:5) Have you ever watched a long-distance runner finish a race? You can see the pain in their faces as they push their bodies to the limit. But there is also a sense of joy and relief mixed in with the exhaustion. Sometimes, the runner’s arms go up in that universal posture of victory as they lunge across the finish line. When Jesus crossed the finish line of his crucifixion, he was undoubtedly in tremendous pain. But he seems to have felt relief and accomplishment, as well.
