The Wendy Van Beek Memorial Ride

1,800 miles. One purpose. Endless hope for Iran.

This July, Doug Van Beek rides from Iowa to California in memory of his wife Wendy — and in support of persecuted Christians in Iran.

On July 4, 2025, Doug begins an 1,800-mile ride from Harris, Iowa to Oasis Ranch, California. He’s calling it the Wendy Van Beek Memorial Ride, in loving memory of his wife, Wendy, who passed away last year.

“Wendy was my biggest encourager. She believed deeply in the mission of Words of Hope and had a heart for people in pain. This ride is for her — and for everyone we seek to serve.” — Doug Van Beek

Doug believes in showing up for people — just like Wendy always did.

Why This Ride Matters

Doug’s journey is raising support for our Persian ministry in Iran, where the situation has become more difficult than ever.  Doug plans to attend a Persian Conference this September to minister directly to Iranian Christians. Join us on this extraordinary journey — one pedal, one prayer, one life changed at a time.
