Waiting with Joy

For family and individual devotional time, including printable activities and crafts.

Every year, Rev. Lou Lotz and his wife would make an Advent activity calendar for their kids, to help them wait well for Christmas. This year, he has made one for you! Over the month of December, we offer a Bible reading and short activity for each day—acts of service, crafts, fun, and reflection.

This devotional series is available in two matching versions: one for young families, and one for older children and adults. Each day’s Bible reading is the same, with the same ideas and similar activities designed to guide your devotional time for the month. Download both free devotionals with printable crafts below.

Carols and Lessons

Christmas music is a joyful part of any celebration, and heard everywhere in the month of December. Each Christmas carol, familiar or new-to-you, tells the story of Jesus and invites us into a deeper relationship with him. In this devotional series, you are invited to sing or listen to a carol and read a lesson to help you prepare your heart for Christmas.

Included with this series is Carols and Lessons for Kids, a 5-lesson series for young families. Organized around the simple act of setting up a nativity scene, Carols and Lessons for Kids helps parents and teachers share the Christmas story with young children. Each lesson includes a simple and familiar carol to sing or share, a Bible passage focused on the Christmas story, a devotional lesson, and suggested activities. Included in the series is a printable nativity scene to color and set up with your children.
