You Are Loved

Read: Ephesians 3:14-21

. . . how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ. (v. 18 NIV)

In our journey these past two weeks, we have read passages about how much we are loved. We talked about the difference between knowing we are loved in our heads and believing this truth in our hearts. We learned that we have a God who sees us, remembers us, and treasures us. We were challenged to love ourselves; to know God’s love abounds for us and is everlasting, and that God always seeks us in love when we stray. His love for us is so great that he sent us his Son, the one who can wash us clean of sin and call us friends. He became obedient to the point of death on a cross for us. Because he wants to enjoy intimate fellowship with us, he knocks on the door of our hearts and invites us to experience his love.

In our text today, Paul writes a prayer for the Ephesians. I join him in this prayer for you. I pray that you will “grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” and that you will “know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God” (vv. 18-19 NIV).

I cannot convince you that you are loved. Only the Holy Spirit can do that. But he is the one “who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (v. 20 NIV). Will you receive his love today?

As you pray, know you are loved.
