TURKEY — The team in Turkey reports: “We held a training for our leadership on core communication and conflict resolution. These are key, as they help our leaders know how to best communicate with each other, how to bring forth the different voices of the team, and how to decide together what God is leading the organization to do.”
INDIA — Please pray for a new convert named Daaruk, as he grows in his faith. Once struggling with alcoholism, Daaruk’s life was transformed through counseling and the love of Christ shown by one of our producers. He recently chose to follow Jesus and was baptized in September. Pray that he remains steadfast in his new faith.
UGANDA — Pray for a Muslim woman who has confided in our Kupsabiny producer that she has decided to convert to Christianity. She came to make the decision after listening to many Words of Hope programs and comparing the Christian teachings to what she knew of Islam. Pray for her as she is now attending church for the first time.
NIGER — Electricity has been cut, and other disturbances have been caused, by terrorists in areas where we work in Niger. The presence of the terrorists is causing many local pastors to fear openly evangelizing or traveling to other communities to pray with people. “Now is the right time to bring the message of hope and peace to a people in distress,” says our producer.
NEPAL — Give thanks that the new Magar and Maithili language broadcasts are now on air. Each week, a new gospel program is produced locally by pastors who speak those languages, and the programs are broadcast from local stations. Pray for the team as it is a big shift to go from working in just one language to producing programs in several.
INDONESIA — Acehnese language ministry had been stopped temporarily because of the ill health of the language translator for the program. We give thanks that, this month, the programs are once again on air. Pray for continued recovery for the program translator, and pray that these programs will touch the hearts of those who are listening.
SOUTH SUDAN — Please pray for our program producer in South Sudan as he is recovering from recent eye surgery. We ask the Lord for complete healing and restored vision for him. May he experience God’s peace and comfort during this time of recovery. We also pray for wisdom and guidance for the medical team caring for him.
IRAN — The final Persian conference for the year was held recently. Many Iranians were able to attend this special time of training and discipleship for the first time ever. Seventeen attendees were baptized! Please pray that these Iranian Christians will continue to grow in their faith back in Iran where Christians face intense persecution.
NEPAL — Please pray for a listener named Mohana, who recently heard our Nepali radio program and is seeking to know more about Christianity. Coming from a strict Hindu family, Mohana faces opposition from her parents, but feels drawn to the gospel. Pray for courage in her faith journey and for her family’s hearts to be open to God’s truth.
BHUTAN — We give thanks that members of the Bhutanese ministry team are noticing improvements in the recording quality of their programs. At the start, one producer used to record programs three times in order to get the script to sound clear and natural. With practice and experience, they now feel very confident, and the recording process goes much faster!
ALBANIA — Pray for wisdom for our team as they are currently considering how to devote more attention to listener followup and building relationships with people who interact with the ministry online. “I believe this approach will result in more people accepting Christ and more direct evangelism,” shares the ministry director for Albania.
ENGLISH — The new devotional book by Words of Hope president emeritus Rev. David Bast is now available on Words of Hope’s website! God of My Days is a year-long study following the life, death, and resurrection of Christ, and is organized around the church’s liturgical calendar. Pray that this new resource will help many people to grow in their faith.
