Support / Give a Gift to Uganda
We want to help support our brothers and sisters living in Uganda. We hope that you will join us in our efforts.
25 dollars
can buy Bible commentaries and other theological resources for Broadcast Ministers
Words of Hope sponsors broadcasts in 4 languages in Uganda, and 2 languages in the neighboring country of Sudan. Making programs in these languages requires creativity and deep Biblical knowledge. Words of Hope supports our Broadcast Ministers in continuing Biblical education and training.
40 dollars
can buy one wind-up radio for a person who lives in a village with no electricity
86 percent of Ugandans live in rural areas. These rural areas are single-road villages like Namusaala, where Words of Hope Director Titus Baraka grew up. The homes here are mud huts with grass-thatched roofs. Most people do not have electricity, but radio is an important means to reach these isolated communities.
75 dollars
can buy one hour of air time for a WOH program in the Bari language
In the 1950s, Bari speaking refugees poured into Uganda from Sudan. Many stayed, forming a small community isolated from the general Ugandan population. Words of Hope offers the world’s only Christian radio broadcast in the Bari language.
100 dollars
can buy the bus ticket for three pastors to attend a training conference to receive valuable pastoral education.
Rev. Stephen Kaziimba is the bishop of Mityana diocese, a very poor, rural church district with 500 pastors. Many of the pastors in the diocese do not have seminary training; they are lay pastors from the congregation. Radio broadcasts help them prepare and conduct services, but pastor-training events are key to encouraging these isolated leaders.
